One small benefit of a bum knee and being unable to play pickleball is that I now lounge in the mornings instead of bounding onto the court at 8:30 a.m.
Eventually, though, I figured it was
time to take my kneecap out for a gentle walk. It had been miraculously cured
after swishing it in the pool yesterday afternoon and I wanted to see how it
would do on dry land.
Being someone who finds walking
incredibly boring, I needed to find my ear thingies so I could listen to my
audio book. (Happily, I’ve managed to snag the third in Robert Thorogood’s Marlow
Mysteries series.)
AirPods. Where were my AirPods? That
little white case is so small that I’m generally very careful about where I leave
it. And one good thing about being in a condo is the limited number of places
it could be.
All table & counter surfaces –
nope. Under all furniture – nothing. (Good news, my knee is well enough for me
to get down on all fours- 6 times) All kitchen drawers – nope. In the bathroom
trash – nope. Kitchen trash – yuck, but nope. Pockets of pants – nope. Last
batch of laundry, please no – but nope. 20 minutes of my life gone.
I gave up and decided I’d just suck it
up and walk anyway.
I
went to brush my teeth.
Of course! The medicine cabinet! I can't believe you didn't go there first. LOL
ReplyDeleteBig sigh.
ReplyDeleteGlad that they miraculously reappeared. And, as my father always said, it is always in the last place you look (though I will admit to sometimes looking in the same place repeatedly before I see).
ReplyDeleteYay! I do hope they help you get that knee back to normal. Being able to get down on all fours is a good sign.
