We’re halfway there.
On Thursday we got the amazing news that on Saturday we’d both willingly be holding out an arm so a complete stranger could stick a needle in it. Today couldn’t come soon enough, and we can barely wait to do it again at the end of March.Who cares how long the line is when both safety and freedom wait at the other end.
There was even a little entertainment along the way courtesy of a neighboring trapeze class
(Until not that long ago, Venice was the winter home to Ringling Brothers circus.)
Some paper shuffling, waiting in another line, then identity confirmation, and before we knew it, a friendly nurse was there at our window.
We had a 15 minute wait under the watchful eyes of the Fire Department's EMTs.
But at least we had a scenic view.
Then we were on our way, our status proudly displayed on the windshield.
Great, so glad to hear it. Yes, what a relief.
ReplyDeleteYay for you!! It will be a long time here, before regular folk get theirs. Lovely port-a-potties. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteYes, in today's world I'm not about to lie and say I'm younger than I am.
DeleteWOOT WOOT! I will getting my second jab in mid March too- YAY, I have never been happier to get vaccinated! Will still be a mask wearer for the rest of my days, probably- just makes sense. Glad you are semi safe now!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news. It will be months before I join your elite class.
ReplyDeleteMay the vaccine in your area flow large and soon.
DeleteI get my first jab on Tuesday! Congratulations to us all who are soon to be vaccinated. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you finally made it :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea when my turn will come around, but I'm not worried, there isn't much Covid here now.
If you have to look at a porta potty, that name is a pretty clever one.
ReplyDeleteIt gets better. Their contact number is 1-800 something something POOP.
DeleteHa ha loved your view. Congrats big time on the first shot and hope the second goes just as smoothly.
ReplyDeleteyay! more and more are getting their jabs.
ReplyDeleteYay! Lucky you! I am still jabless but hoping soon...
ReplyDeleteOne more instance of it paying to be old!
DeleteYeah for vaccinations!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are relieved. OUr process here has involved no waiting and no lines. Hubby got his first from the car and I got my first in our pharmacy. We are lucky I guess.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Our relatives back home in Massachusetts are beyond frustrated with long waits, cancellations, and big distances to get to a vaccination center.
