Man the barricades

For the third morning in a row, I opened my iPad to update any comments on my blog and things looked different.
I had somehow been bumped to the new Blogger. Fortunately, the first time this happened I figured out how to hop back to the tried and true earlier version. All was again right with the world.
What's disturbing, other than having to do this every day, is that back in August I had already chosen the old version, foolishly thinking the Blogger gods would honor my choice.
Now it appears I'll have to re-set every time.
If they continue to provide that option, that is.

  1. I think the old option is only temporary. They usually do not support older software interfaces forever. I think I have gotten used to the new version...I think.

  2. My blog will not let me use the 'old' version anymore. I finally figured out how to post photos, and I did a post this morning....but my new post isn't showing up on the pages of people who 'follow' me.

  3. I think the "Legacy Blogger" option IS going to vanish at some point. They're making us adapt!

  4. When they switched me, I stayed with it. The basics are pretty well the same. I now have a little more control over the size of my photos, but there a re a few features lacking.

  5. I've been reset once, I immediately retreated to the old blogger. New blogger brings nothing to the table except frustration!

  6. Eventually we will have to knuckle under. But for now, we do have a choice. Oh well, it could be worse, I guess. :-)

  7. The current theory seems to be that they will remove the option to revert to Legacy Blogger at the end of the month. However, several supposedly final dates have been and gone. It seems that they are well aware that it is not popular (or even workable). If you can, next time they pull the switch on you, give them feedback.

  8. I hold my breath every time I come in here, and Im very careful not to disturb the furniture. I've seen the new Blogger and obviously you feel about it the way I do.

They still have done some screwy things with the lists--they've started grouping 'like' posts together so you don't have to hunt for something you didn't want to hunt for any way...half the fun is poking about.
I think they're trying to sneak up on us, though. We are the rebels, the hold outs, the ones standing over in the corner pouting, fists clenched...pretty soon someone's gonna offer us a cookie.

    No. No cookie. Go Away.

I know they'll find us sooner or later, but Im not going easy, nope.

  9. I'm still on the old version but I expect any day I will be bumped to the new. they will only tolerate laggers for so long then they will switch you whether you like it or not.

  10. And I have the feeling that option will go away. It did last time, several years ago.

  12. Me too. I was worried they would no longer provide the option and am trying the new version. Each time I click on a blog to read, I get a redirect notice and have to access a link to find the post. I hate having to opt out each time but guess I will for now. Really don't like new version.

  13. I think the extended option is only until November.
