Bisexual Shopping

My Kohl’s Cash bonus of $20 was burning a hole in my pocket so I stopped by to see what I could score. Kohl’s has never exactly been haute couture, but I thought maybe I could pick up a t-shirt for yoga or some such thing.

I did try, but everything in the women's department was too clingy or too short. Bad news for ladies in my age bracket, much out there is now cropped at the waist – not exactly what I’m looking for when I’m upside down at yoga or wanting to cover the new profile my middle has taken on.

I headed to the men’s department. Quality of fabric – superior. Length – excellent. Most colors were a bit dull, but I found a beautifully soft baby blue long-sleeved polo sweater and an Eddy Bauer navy blue waffled sweatshirty kind of thing.

          And with my Kohl’s Cash + a $5 credit + a sale price, the total was $20.

  1. I ;hear ya! There's quite a few things I always buy in men's wear because the quality and fit are better plus they're cheaper than the equivalent made for women. T-shirts and wnter mitts/gloves among them. So many styles are essentially unisex these days, no one cares which department you shop in!

  2. I've been disappointed with women's clothing for decades, buying men's t-shirts and track pants instead of the flimsy, too tight, too expensive women's things. I don't mind looking plain or even dowdy, the men's things last for years at close to half the price and as long as I am comfortable and decently covered I don't care what anyone else thonks.

  3. Like you, I realized this disparity long ago.

  4. I have been buying men's pants for ages because they have great pockets, not the little unfortunate things they call pockets in most women's pants. Since I am almost 83, nobody is offended.

  5. Ha! Well, THAT's an eye-catching headline. I suspect it's easier for women to shop in the men's department than the other way around! (I confess I've never tried it!)
