Drips and stretches

It arrived this morning at 4:30 a.m., and not on little cat feet. More like stegosaurus stumps.

For the past few days My Guy has been honking and sneezing and coughing. Yesterday, after staying in bed till 11:00, he ate a little breakfast, went out for a newspaper and then slept in his recliner from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30.

I was following behind him with aspirin, cough drops, and liquids while simultaneously swiping at tv controllers and light switches with antiseptic wipes.

But at 4:30 the blightmobile arrived for me anyway. Sore throat and sludge.

Then again, I generally shake these things off pretty quickly.

On a more positive note, our YMCA worked a miracle on me Sunday.

My knee had been unhappy two weeks ago, so I went the ice, rest, ibuprofen route, spending much of my time reading and being generally inactive. Add to that four days of driving from Florida to Massachusetts. By the time we got home both ankles were unhappy, my shin wasn’t too thrilled either, and the knee was no better.

Thinking what the hell, I went to yoga class Sunday morning. It’s gentle yoga, more like elaborate stretching, but I did find some of the positions a little problematic.

When I left, my knee felt fine as did every other body part.

Proving yet again that as we age we need to be careful not to rust in place.

  1. I went to a gentle yoga class this morning and feel so much better for it. I get it. Glad you're feeling better and hope the crud doesn't stay too long.

  2. I hope the lurgy doesn't last long. And yes, I continue to move (slowly) so I can.

  4. I'm hoping to avoid any kind of lurgy by staying home a lot, but going to see the twins this week after not seeing them for the last six weeks.

    1. Funny - we also have twins. Granddaughters who just turned 7 and we need to carve out time for a visit.
