Not much to report here. My Guy marked another full year on the planet yesterday. We had to cancel the flyover, marching band, and festival of mimes.
Covid, you know. Still, we had a pleasant day of offspring phone calls, and absurdly fattening birthday cake.I did spot a few Florida fauna in the course of the week –
Bunny by the golf course. He chewed away, ignoring us, but then an osprey zoomed overhead and he disappeared.
Heron in our complex lagoon.
Turtle (with the circumference of a serving platter) intent on crossing the golf course.
But wait, we did have one noteworthy event. No longer will I need to chip ineffectually at a lump of frozen hamburger or try to re-heat leftovers in the oven, like those bad old days in the 80s. Our new microwave arrived yesterday. I can now wait until midday to decide what to defrost, and order Chinese takeout with abandon.
And lastly, a soothing photo of Mamie and another Coton de Tulear on the beach at sunset.
Cute photo of Mamie and her cousin! That IS an impressive (but probably confused) turtle. Happy belated birthday to your guy!
ReplyDeleteA belated happy birthday to your guy. Birthday cake has no calories - for the person whose birthday it is anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for sharing some of the wildlife.
WEll, now there is trouble..I went down the google hole of Coton de Tulear pups.Oh my! They are the cutest! And I am in need...Anyway, Mamie has my heart.
ReplyDeleteYes, ridiculously cute, and good natured, besides.
DeleteThat is definitely a soothing picture, and I had heard before that the breed itself is soothing. Not to mention fraidy cats. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a breed I didn't know about before. And happy birthday to the Guy.
ReplyDeleteA lovely heron. Ours are a much darker grey. And a belated happy to your guy.
ReplyDeleteAww, no flyover??? Well sounds like you two made the best of the special day anyway. Belated Happy Birthday to your fella.
ReplyDeleteAre we looking at a romance or a friendship between those two cuties?
No romance. That's another little girl named Ariel. And after having had 5 litters in a previous life, Mamie would likely tell you she's had quite enough of all that.
DeleteHooray for super shy Mamie making a new friend :) :)
ReplyDeleteI dislike microwave defrosted meat, I'd much rather defrost the old way, on a towel on the sink or in the fridge if there is enough time.
