We’ve hit a
patch of 50 – 60 ish weather here in our corner of Florida.
Yesterday standing in line at CVS,
I couldn’t decide if those around me were over, or under reacting. The woman in front of me had on jeans, a
sweater, and a down jacket. The woman in
back of me was wearing flip-flops, shorts and a sleeveless tee.
I just got back from visiting my sister in the Tampa area. We had some cold weather but also some very lovely sunny days. Clothing was all over the place, just as you point out here. :-)
At 50, I'd be wearing the down jacket etc, at 60, I could possibly go without the jacket, but still wear the rest. If I lived there for a few years and became acclimatised, I might even ditch the sweater. At least you are warmer than the rest of your country.
The thing is, when you live in Florida and you have cold-weather clothes, and temperatures get even slightly nippy, it's time to USE those clothes because otherwise they'll just hang in the closet for another year!
That's so funny. My sister and brother-in-law are in Florida for a week. I wonder how they are making out with what to wear. I've just read your post on hair and got so tickled!
We have been experiencing 10-15 below for the past few nights, and probably again tonight. I take the night shift to feed the stoves, and he gets the cats on the bed. It doesn't last long and he has promised me 40 deg. days come next Monday. Sure.
One of the hazards/perks of living in Northern New England...but oh, spring, when it comes (sometime between May 12 and June 15), will be glorious.
WE had a thin-blooded visitor from Hawaii for a few days and he wore his neck scarf and knit hat in the house!

ReplyDeleteThose temperatures sound pretty close to perfect to me. And if I ever wore shorts I would be with the woman behind you.

ReplyDeleteWe will be zero or below come mid week. How about you?
