Dance of the Ages

Time for another installment of

Five Sentence Fiction

This week's topic is  Dance.

It worked nicely into a 44th wedding anniversary here at Welcome Words.

While Anna and the King ask, “Shall We Dance?”

Snow White and the Prince warm up those iron shoes for the Queen.

Over on the West Side, the Jets and the Sharks get ready to rumble.

Fair Eliza, gone from gutter to drawing room, could have waltzed all night

And Ms. Cinders left her partner with empty arms at twelve.

It was 1969 when our dance began.

Forty-four years and you can still find us, sweatshirt to sweatshirt,

As we soft-shoe to the radio in the kitchen.

  2. I already liked this, and then I got to the lovely detail, "sweatshirt to sweatshirt." So telling and sweet. Keep on dancing! Also, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I think I will avoid Nutella!
