First came the goats . . .

I’d played pickleball for two hours in the morning, but then spent the afternoon just sitting, so it was time for a walk around the complex.

Bunnies are beginning to show up. I used to see them all the time, but then I’m not out walking my sweet dog Mamie anymore at dog-o’clock, aka 7pm-ish, which is prime bunny time. Or is it the approach of Easter?

There was an escapee amaryllis, likely someone’s leftover Christmas bulb.

And these giant palm husks that fall after a session of wind, making tidying a northern yard look like child’s play.

    And then there was this.

Gaping holes in front of one of the buildings.

Turns out, some are man-made and others not so much.

Word is, an armadillo (or several) have been doing some burrowing, not good if you’re paying a landscaping company scads of money to keep the place pristine. But good after all, because while looking into the holes management discovered a breaking sewer line, which they immediately started work on.

I think I’ll have to take more walks in that direction – I’d love to see an armadillo.

  1. I saw a wild rabbit last week, the first I've seen all winter. It was a small doe, still pure white, which tells me that Spring is NOT around the corner here, alas.

    1. Sorry about the non-stop winter, but betcha that bunny was pretty.
