Who knew freezing spray was a thing?

I found out when I plowed my way through the information-blocking multitude of ads on the Weather Channel in search of better weather.

I may live over 100 miles from the Atlantic, but that didn’t stop the Weather Channel from offering me this timely advice. The high today will be 13 degrees after all:

Except who on the planet would be out in a boat when the wind chill is -6 degrees?

    1. Too true. Being a fisherman is not for the faint of heart.

  2. We are in the sweaty season here. I would welcome some of that freezing spray.

  3. VERY DANGEROUS to be on the water in such cold weather. There are those that know what they are doing, but most should stay home!

  4. Surely not even fishers at this time of year. Who then?

    1. Off NJ this week there were massive shoals of striped bass and black fish.

  5. I would guess that fishers know better than to get out in that kind of weather. Maybe it's just to, you know, CYA? :-)

  6. Perhaps those who make a living hauling food from the ocean? But I'm glad I'm not one of them.

  8. Fishermen on draggers and lobstermen hauling traps, scallop divers, clammers, mariners of all sorts including coast guard, supply boats, tugboats, ferry crews . . .and I'm sure many more I'm forgetting; all are familiar with freezing spray.

  9. "Freezing spray" is new to me. Sounds like something that might go on top of "wintry mix."
