Breakfasting Al Fresco

I had any number of companions at breakfast this morning:

An inquisitive bumble bee

Pelicans on a Sunday feed

A big-footed lab

A bashful crab

And planes making their dip

to a nearby landing strip.

Today we grabbed our travel mugs, stopped off at a local breakfast spot to pick up an incredible Almond Joy scone (me) and a pumpkin-peach muffin (hubster), and headed to the beach.

Umbrella up, chairs untangled, and we were set. October in Florida has its perks.

Meanwhile at home in Massachusetts it's 46 degrees, partly cloudy, and with wind gusts of 15 to 45 mph.

  1. Yay! That sounds pretty darn perfect, even with all those interlopers. :-)

  2. It does indeed sound good. And most of those breakfast guests wouldn't eat much. Some (I am thinking the lab and the pelican) would scoff the lot given half a chance.

    1. Yes, the lab was working off a lot of energy in the water. Wish I'd gotten a picture of him.

  3. Sounds like a great way to spend the day! Were you at Caspersen, by the airport?

    1. Wow - what a memory!
Almost - we hit the beach before Casperson, just next to the dog park. The parking is better there.

  4. You just can't beat Fall and Winter in Florida. Only time I miss it.

  5. pumpkin-peach? ick. but then the only pumpkin flavored anything should be pie. and I could take sitting on the beach in October.

  6. Enjoy your time on the beach and elsewhere as I sit here double-layered this morning while I resist putting the furnace on.
