Unmuzzled

I’d gotten a heads-up from a friend, but still it looked weird this morning to see everyone going maskless into the YMCA. My group exercise class was a bit bigger, too, with an allowed enrollment now of 25. I still need to reserve a space ahead of time, a process that at times was a bit like trying to win concert tickets on the radio.

The class I want is at 10 a.m., and we’re not allowed to register any sooner than 24 hours ahead. During the peak of demand, when we were all champing at the bit to just get out, this mean sitting by my computer watching the minutes tick down: 9:57, 9:58. 9:59, CLICK! This was a little tricky if I actually had somewhere to be the day before, but I finally learned I could phone in my reservation; the hardest part of that was remembering to do it.

And in spite of the woman in front of me who was constantly juuust off beat of what the rest of us were doing, the class was great and it was great being able to breath again.

  1. Wonderful. Sadly I would be the woman who was well off beat. I hope she enjoyed her uncordinated self too.

  2. Glad life is getting back to normal for you. Be sure you don't stand behind that lady next time!

  3. juuust off beat is so annoying. I noticed something similar when I tried Tai Chi, people would look at the teacher to see where their arms and legs should be and jerk them into place instead of the smoother flowing movements we were supposed to use, because they couldn't remember the sequence of steps.

  4. That's what I was thinking; you could breathe again.

  6. Our classes will resume this summer, but not yet. I'm just glad for zoom yoga!
