Produce and pooches

With Sunday’s weather looming on the horizon, (today it was 74 in the morning, then dropped to 52 with high winds and rain in a span of one hour) My Guy and I figured we’d better get out and enjoy the day.

It had been quite a while since we’d both gone to the Saturday farmer’s market. It’s changed quite a bit – I found only two actual produce venders, the rest of the booths were filled with fancy breads, cheeses and spices, and endless things to eat right there like barbecue, pierogies, even lobster sliders.

How about paella with shrimp, scallops, and squid - the black you see is squid ink.

There were also a few crafty-kinds of booths.

But what we found remarkable was the preponderance of dogs.

         Dogs in pairs,

dogs training to help the blind,

BIG dogs (bear in mind that the owner was well over 6’4” if that helps gauge the scale)

And dogs on wheels

Or without

And then there’s always a non-conformist. . .

  1. I would definitely stop to pet the non-conformist if it would let me!

  3. I have seen elderly and overweight cats being pushed around in prams, but never a young one. I know my Lola would never sit still like that, she'd be over the side and gone in a heartbeat. I'm guessing that one has been trained since her earliest days.
I love the colourful baskets display.

  4. That is an interesting market indeed. Maybe when the springtime hits, there will be actual produce.
