Watch out for the sugar plum fairy

I’d had my misgivings, but as it turns out I survived this morning’s yoga class just fine.

After three days on my feet preparing, creating, and clearing up Christmas, my left knee went on strike. On Saturday the idea of bending it was laughable.

Turns out it just wanted some time off and now I’m back to the limberness leveI (such as it is) I had before all this merriment

          So that’s good.

Probably not so good is the conversation I had with another yoga-ite. We were having the requisite post-holiday discussion of all the calories consumed. I mentioned that the weigh-in for my upcoming physical probably wouldn’t be pretty.

Another factor she reminded me of was the heroic amounts of sugar we take in during holidays. I guess I’d better slow down my two-fisted gluttony, not open that bag of Ghirardelli squares until after Tuesday, and I suppose I can make it through two wine-free evenings.

  1. "Two-fisted gluttony" made me laugh! Glad your knee is behaving again.

  2. Glad your knee is back to work. You're brave to schedule a physical so soon after all the merriment.
    Happy holidays!

    1. Not so much courage as the inevitability of scheduling every-six-month visits.
      More like bad planning!

  3. I'm glad the knee resolved itself, we need knees for so many reasons! I'm about to slow down my own Christmas goodies intake. This year I got a LOT of chocolate as gifts, so it's all in the fridge and I will indulge sparingly. Maybe it will last until next Christmas! 😂🤣

    1. I salute your self-discipline (much better than mine) and hope it holds.

  4. So true about the abundance of sugars... meanwhile, this is the first Christmas in 4-5 years I had no Chirardelli squares, and now I can't stop staring at your photo :^)

    1. Sorry - that's worse than someone leaving you with an ear-worm of a song.
