Settling In

Internet!  I have internet!  Kind of:

You can see why my communication has been delayed.

It only took a week, and the epic tale of me and the cable company will follow later, but I thought I'd stick my head out and let you know I'm still alive.

Not unlike one of the neighbors. Yes, he really is about the size of that manhole cover. He comes out and wanders across the broiling asphalt every day or so.

This is definitely not Kansas.

  1. Love your neighbour.
Sigh on the internet/cable company front. Too many of us have been there.

    1. Thanks, Gail. I was getting a little twitchy without my blog world.

  3. I'm glad you're alive. Is that a big turtle? I can't tell for sure! Yikes! :-)

    1. Yep. I've decided his name is Salvatore. He wanders out of the nature preserve in back of our complex.

  5. Nice to see you beginning to settle in. I always find unpacking is a bit like Christmas, surprises in every box. Of course finding new homes for things in different cabinets is....okay, it's fun too. For me anyway.
I think Salvatore needs some tiny boots.

  8. That's a softshell turtle, as you probably know. They get HUGE. He's an impressive specimen!
