Bitter Attraction

This week's topic is  Frozen







Their lips met before Janie and Christopher even knew each other.

Neither would ever forget that day in January, so cold you thought twice before taking a breath.

The sun struggled through the distant stripped trees and was reflected dully on the nearby chain link fence.

They stood before each other on the black asphalt, squared off like long-time rivals, champions of their cheering supporters, and the pitiless challenge between them.

Mrs. Benninghoff called distantly from the school door as they simultaneously pressed their tongues against the flag pole.
