The gutter-cleaning guys were due
to come today so this weekend I popped outside to see if I’d left anything in
the garden that might impede the process. I moved a shepherd’s crook to another
area and put our small metal sundial away.
We’d been alerted that
they were coming and asked to please leave our outside faucets open for them to
use. We’d already closed the inside tap down for the winter (and left the outside
open) to avoid a frozen valve but I went out again to reverse the process.
My Guy said he hadn’t done it. I also
noticed the rocks I’d put down around the air conditioning unit were scattered
about and a bit of border fencing I’d squirreled away under the porch had been
moved.
But I tend to forget all the magical
worker bees that circle through our complex. Not only do we have gutter guys
and landscaping folks, I had forgotten seeing someone with a tank on his
back and a wand spraying the base of our units. It’s too late for insects, so I’ll
bet he was out there discouraging the field mice from skittering from the woods
out back into our nice warm basements.
Glad you solved the mystery - which would have nagged at me.
ReplyDeleteA nice list of chores not on your plate.
ReplyDeleteI would have worried about those things being moved too, but around here my worry is thieves, not maintenance men.
