Reading and Riding

The two of us were out for a bike ride the other day on the kind of route I like best – meandering around the streets of our small town. What’s not to like about looking at houses and their summer flowers?

So much more restful than the autobahn feel of a bike trail when the view is often only tree, bush, tree, bush, with the real bikers zipping condescendingly around you, often without warning.

I had to stop for this – it even offers its own explanation (poor spelling and all).

  1. I've read of this, but never seen a real Little Free. Thanks for the bike ride.

  2. I think these cute little free libraries are super. I never see any around here though..If I didn't live along a highway, I would put one out.

  3. What a neat idea and what a common mistake. So common, it took me a minute to find it.

  4. We have such ‘libraries’ too. Sometimes they’re just a dry bench or a small shelf out of the weather, or a telephone kiosk. You are meant to take a book and, if possible, replace it with one of your own.

I think it’s a brilliant idea; many people can’t afford to buy books.
